Tour details
Explore the first Mayan village on the island of Cozumel on this history-filled experience. Learn about the history of its first settlers, visit the Jade Cenote and enjoy its water, then have lunch on the beach and take the best short snorkeling tour from the shore.
Discover the mystical cenote and cave that was once the site of Mayan religious ceremonies. Our tour takes you through the lush jungle to the Jade Cavern, also known as “Cenote Chempita”: a hidden gem and a stunning natural wonder with jade-colored water, perfect for swimming and cooling off from the heat. The more adventurous can jump from the top of the cave into the refreshing water.
The history and natural beauty of the Jade Cavern will leave you in awe. Our expert guides explain the importance of the cenote in Mayan culture and tell you about the surrounding flora and fauna. This jungle adventure, combined with the beauty of the Jade Cavern, is an unforgettable experience not to be missed.
Experience the cultural splendor of Cozumel at El Cedral, the first town occupied by the Maya and later by the first settlers after the Spanish conquest. Your expert guide tells you the history of the place, where you can admire Mayan remains and the first church built in the town. Don’t miss the chance to explore this magical town, a must-see and a testament to the region’s rich history.
The Santa Cruz de Sabán festival is celebrated in this town. Your guide explains its origins: the first families came here to hide from the attacks and the war that raged throughout the Yucatán Peninsula. The island of Cozumel was a refuge from those attacks, which is why the town of El Cedral was founded. Come and relive this fascinating history.

Payment
A deposit of $10 USD per person holds your reservation. Paying in full before the tour is recommended; if you only paid the deposit, the balance is due at the time of the tour. Cash is preferred for the balance — US dollars or Mexican pesos at that day’s exchange rate — but card, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay also work.
Cancellation policy
Cancel at least 24 hours before the tour’s start time for a full refund. If you cancel less than 24 hours before, the amount you paid is not refunded, and changes within 24 hours can’t be accepted. Cut-off times follow Cozumel local time. The “No Tour, No Pay” guarantee still covers you if your ship doesn’t arrive.
Discover the island’s highlights with an expert local guide: your own Jeep, your own snorkel guide, Punta Sur’s lighthouse and the wild east coast — at your pace, not a caravan’s.
The island’s best spots by private Jeep, the wild east coast, a seaside lunch, snorkeling from the beach and 20 minutes riding the waves on a jet ski — included, not extra.
More than 500 years of history: the island’s largest archaeological site with a local guide, the most beautiful Caribbean views, a seaside lunch and a natural cenote.
