Tour details
Why choose our custom private Cozumel Jeep tour? It’s hard to find the best Jeep tour for your trip when they all offer the same thing — because almost every online tour company sells the exact same Jeep tour in Cozumel. Some descriptions and prices are nicer than others, but it’s all the same: large group tours that can have up to 20 Jeeps at a time, so don’t expect personal attention from your guide. We give our guests the freedom they are looking for when they take a tour.
We have the #1 private tour guides, who speak fluent English and are featured in many of our 5-star reviews. They are truly magnificent and very knowledgeable about Cozumel’s culture and history, because many are natives of Cozumel who grew up living this unique and fascinating culture — they know everything first-hand. We know most of our guests only vacation once a year, so we work hard to make our private Jeep excursion the highlight of their trip.
Our Cozumel Jeep adventure is unique — the only one like it on the island — and we have put all the most requested sights and attractions into this tour. You can customize it any way you like: once we pick you up at the cruise pier or your hotel, we ask if there are any places you want to go or things you would like to do.
The first stop is a private beach club, so you are not surrounded by crowds of cruise passengers. The beach is very nice and the club has great facilities: pool, showers, lockers (included), restaurant, bar, beach massage, snorkeling and much more. The club runs its own snorkel tour every hour or so, but your private guide takes you on your own private snorkel tour — at your own pace and out to the nicer reefs the club’s tour doesn’t visit.
The water is nice and shallow, so you can capture Cozumel’s mesmerizing reefs. They are very lively, and with our professional snorkel guide you’ll discover many different kinds of sea creatures. The beach makes getting into the water very easy, and if you don’t want to snorkel you can relax on the beach or by the pool with the complimentary beer or water we provide. Use the showers when you’re done.
Punta Sur Park is one of our most popular attractions, and entrance to the park and its beach is included. Snorkeling from the beach is included too — Punta Sur is known for the best snorkeling from shore, although its reefs are a little farther out than at the beach club. The park sits at the southern tip of the island and is Cozumel’s most spectacular ecological reserve. You start with one of the world’s most amazing views from the top of the Celarain lighthouse, with a nautical museum at its base.
Then your private guide takes you to Laguna Colombia, part of a three-lagoon system and home to crocodiles, which you can spot from the shore, the bridge or the observation tower, along with resident and migratory waterfowl and other rare and unique creatures. Climb the stairs to a lookout over the lagoon, walk the trail through the mangroves and visit a unique Mayan ruin — your guide tells you its history and how it is still used to this day.
If you like, head down to the gorgeous beach of Punta Sur, where the water is very calm. There are no waves, so it’s perfect for all ages, and the water is so still and crystal clear that it looks like glass. Very beautiful!
We also take you to the other side of Cozumel: 7 miles (11 km) of secluded oceanfront with magnificent white-sand beaches, blowholes, mesmerizing rock formations, caves, secret beaches and off-road paths — much nicer than the overcrowded beaches on the cruise side. There is no development here, just natural coastline that will take your breath away. Your guide shows you hidden beaches and caves many tourists never see. There is no electricity on this side of the island, only a few scattered beach bars and restaurants that fit in perfectly.
You’ll stop at a beach bar and restaurant with the most magnificent view of the Caribbean for an authentic Mexican meal, with options for vegetarians and the pickiest eaters — if you’d like a specific food, tell us and we’ll be happy to accommodate. A cooler of sodas and water comes with you all day. Across from the restaurant there is a very secluded beach with a certified lifeguard on duty: your own piece of paradise, away from the tourist traps and crowds.
After your snorkel and beach break, we head to the tequila tour, where you discover how Mexicans turn a spiky plant into their national drink and taste a variety of amazing margaritas. Don’t worry, there are non-alcoholic drinks for kids :) You can skip the tequila tour and do something else if you like — nothing is set in stone.
Our custom private Jeep excursion in Cozumel has something for everyone: create your own adventure around your interests and your ship’s schedule.
